How stone veneer installed...
Veneer stone can be installed almost on any surface. There are multiple types of veneer stone so the surface preparation will vary depending on the stone and surface application.
Manufactured veneer stone has few advantages over natural stone; it is lighter, it can be ordered in any color and pattern, and it is much cheaper in cost and labor.
If the veneer stone is installed on non masonry surfaces (wood, plywood, drywall etc...), water vapor barrier applied before installing it, then galvanized metal lath installed on water barrier. The metal lath is installed using 16 gauge wide crown staples approximately every 6" in all directions.
